ICYMI: Optimizing Ads Across Facebook and Instagram, Pinterest Targeting Updates, and More
This week: An Adaptly webinar on how to boost the reach and cost-efficiency of ad campaigns across Facebook and Instagram, Pinterest engagement retargeting, Facebook Offers, and zoom coming to Instagram.
Facebook and Instagram, with 1.71 billion and 500 million monthly active users respectively, account for one in every five minutes spent on mobile. To help advertisers efficiently reach those highly engaged audiences, Facebook has made it possible to optimize a single ad set across both Facebook and Instagram through Placement Optimization. On September 13 at 12PM EDT, Adaptly is hosting a webinar with Instagram and TV Land to discuss how to boost efficient reach across both platforms while achieving key business objectives and lowering costs. For more information about Placement Optimization, download Adaptly’s whitepaper.
Following the June rollout of new targeting capabilities on Pinterest, advertisers have seen an 80% increase in clickthrough rates to their sites. Three months later, Pinterest is making it possible for advertisers to target Pinners based on engagement on Pinterest. Through engagement retargeting, advertisers can effectively reach users who have already shown interest in their brand by interacting with their Pins. They can also target users who have engaged with their website through a new Pinterest tag. The tag identifies nine behaviors, like adds-to-cart and purchases, that will help businesses retarget users to drive conversions.
Facebook has made it easier than ever for advertisers to share discounts and promotions with consumers on Facebook. The reimagined Facebook Offers gives advertisers the ability to promote both online and in-store discounts and promotions through an Offers ad or a Page post. Users will be able to claim and keep track of their claimed Offers through their Facebook accounts and redeem them across devices or in stores. Facebook will also remind users when claimed Offers are about to expire.
Instagram users, rejoice! Instagram announced that zoom is finally coming to the photo-sharing app. Users will soon be able to pinch to zoom in on photos in their feed as well as in other users’ profiles and the Explore tab. The reaction to the announcement has been overwhelmingly positive as users prepare to take their Instagram stalking games to the next level. And stop admonishing their parents that “you can’t zoom in on Instagram!”.
