Last week, Adaptly took the stage at Social Media Week in New York with retail clients Etsy and Chico’s to discuss how advertisers can keep up with social platform perspectives. Users come to Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, and Twitter for distinctly different reasons, so brands need to tailor their creative accordingly. In Adaptly’s second session at Social Media Week, Co-Founder and CEO Nikhil Sethi presented alongside Instagram and BuzzFeed on the evolution social video. The medium of video has gone through many phases over the past few years, and it can be tough for advertisers to keep up with the latest formats. BuzzFeed and Instagram shared best practices for mobile and vertical video, and combatting dwindling consumer attention spans.
Following last week’s announcement of ads in Instagram Stories, Instagram has added geosticker capabilities to further build out the stories feature. Users in New York City and Jakarta will be able to access dozens of customized geostickers that can be added to Instagram Stories. The stickers will be linked, just like the customizable location sticker, to the location page associated with each geosticker. Additional city stickers will be available soon.
