Find Love for Your Brand this V-Day With Paid Social
Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is celebrated by over half the US population and generates $19 billion in revenue. Love-struck consumers spend an average of $150 on their Valentines, with men outspending women by almost $100. Spend also varies by age group, with 25-44 year-olds spending the most. 18-24 year-olds are the most likely to shop online and over one-third of that age group planned to purchase Valentine’s Day products on smartphones or tablets in 2016.
Online shopping starts with online research: 29 million people have saved nearly 200 million Pins about Valentine’s Day on Pinterest. Mobile gift searches surged 71% in the week leading up to the big day last year, as loved ones looked for last minute chocolates and greeting cards. Users also look for inspiration on Instagram, where there are over 7.6 million posts with the hashtag #valentinesday.
