Social Advertising Strategies to Spread the Love on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day
No one is more deserving of love and appreciation than moms and dads, which is why millions of Americans celebrate Mother’s Day and Father’s Day each spring. Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, respectively on May 14th and June 18th this year, accrue over $35 billion in spending as consumers celebrate the moms and dads in their lives.
Moms tend to be on both the giving and receiving ends of these holidays, often doing the shopping for their kids or buying gifts for their own parents. And moms are incredibly active on social media: US moms check Facebook about 10 times per day, and one in four US female Instagram users are mothers, 68% of which use the platform daily. Social media activity peaks around these two holidays as users show appreciation for their loved ones, offering advertisers an opportunity to deliver compelling content across social channels to drive sales.
